This weekend I attended the 2nd Annual Global African Symposium at the Miramar City Hall located at 2300 Civic Center Place in Miramar. The event was loaded with activities and Dynamic Celebrations. Guest speakers included Rastapreneur Rohan Marley (son of the Legendary Bob Marly) along with Dr. Norman A. Ajiboye MD, Faha Faan (Vice Chief of Neuroscience, Medical Director Stroke Program at the Memorial Hospital Miramar, the panel gave us insights on Celebrating our Heritage, Innovation and Unity. This was truly a celebration of Collaboration and Growth.
The Vendors all came out, from Jerk Chicken, African Specialties, Conch, Chicken Souse and much more. There was a variety of delicious delicacies to choose from. Our African pride was on full display as we shopped, danced to the beat of drums and African music.
Then came the African Fashion Show put on by the incomparable Zainabu aka Marjorie located at 5918 Pembroke Rd. West Park. The models took to the stage in their Diaspora fashion and left it all there. They celebrated in Unisom; I was able to get some pictures of the Fashions, and they can all be found at the Zainabu location in West Park.

This event left everyone in good spirits, I created relationships that would last a lifetime and opened doors that would guarantee success. I ran into the beautiful Dr. Sandra Justice, she is the Founder and Director of the Miss Choucoune International so proud of her, doing big things in the Haitian Community, yet still finding the time to support events like this.

Below are some of the attendees, enjoying some shopping and chatting about their experiences that day. I had a wonderful day, and I look forward to its 3rd Annual African Symposium next year 2027.

Thank you for your lending me your eyes and ears to write about events like this, events that enlightens and lifts up our Culture where we can Collaborate and Grow together. Stay tuned for more.
Thank You
