Another blow to Haiti

Melanin Power would like to extend its prayers and condolences to the country of Haiti*

It just seems that the country of Haiti just can’t catch a break. This Country has been faced with one tragic incident after another. The Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry says his country is “on its knees” after more than 2,000 people were killed in Saturday’s powerful earthquake.

Hundreds of homeless lives in a makeshift tent city inside of a soccer stadium in Les Cayes, Haiti, after losing their home in the 7.2 magnitude earthquake last week, on Thursday, August 19, 2021.

Mr. Henry said Haiti was “physically and mentally devastated” with more than 12,000 people left injured and over 332 still missing after the 7.2-magnitude hit.

Haiti is desperately seeking help from all available outlets, lets come together and support our Melanin Brothers and Sisters at yet another devastating time. There are a number of reputable Charities that are helping in this effort to support Haiti. Please find one that you’re comfortable with and SUPPORT, this is the time to make a difference.

The images are devastating; families are now faced again to live in a squatter state. Who can imagine that this country still rippling from the 7.0 Magnitude earthquake in 2010 that killed over 300,000 and left over 250,000 injured would be facing a similar situation today. A country at a loss of losing its President Jovenel Moïse just over a month ago. My people, if there ever is a time to give, this would be one of those times.
