Women’s Equality Day arrives with an invitation to celebrate.
But perhaps it should also arrive with a question.
Should we be celebrating this day—or have we become so accustomed to designated moments of recognition that we fail to recognize how many days women deserve to be honored?
For Steph, founder of Melanin Power, the answer begins there.
Women do not become powerful because the calendar gives them a day. Their value is not created by a proclamation, a celebration or a moment of recognition.
